New Goodyear tires can turn into propellers for flying machines

What will be "shod" car of the future? It seems that the U.S. tire manufacturer Goodyear knows the answer to this question. Moreover, engineers and designers have even created a demo video that provides a sneak peek into the future. Concept awesome tires shown in this video, really impressive. But who knows when this project will come to life.

The Company demonstrated the concept of a flying car, which can function as propellers for flight. The new bus is called Aero, and should ensure the take off of the car without stopping. It looks very unusual.

Especially for this between the tread and the rim are elastic walls. They are converted into a propeller blade and creates the lifting and driving forces. On the ground they act as dampers.

Previously showed spherical Goodyear tires Eagle-360. Bus is planned to be released in an exclusive design to various countries, on the basis of information about road surfaces and weather conditions. The outer layers of the tire will be applied on the inner frame with the help of advanced 3D printing. Secured to the car these wheels will be using magnetic levitation technology. However, while this concept, too, has not seen the light.

At the same time, the development of the company can be helpful. Recently at the Geneva motor show, the Dutch company PAL-V was the first who was able to provide a working machine that was certified and ready to fly. Despite the fact that inside it looks more like a helicopter than a car, it is the first production flying car.
