Norway recycles 97% of the plastic bottles. Her technique is impressive

What Norway has succeeded better than any other country, so it is in the processing of plastic waste. If the U.S. level of reuse of plastic reaches only 30%, in the Nordic country, this figure reaches unimaginable 97%, and in the environment gets only 1% waste. Such results managed to achieve thanks to Infinitum, which came up with a great strategy to motivate people to donate bottles for recycling.

The reason for the unpopularity of recycling is that manufacturers are much cheaper to create new plastic than to spend money on creating materials for reuse. Knowing this, the company Infinitum has done so, and consumers and producers there is a financial incentive to donate and recycle plastic waste.

The Country is massively raised the cost of food in plastic containers — they stand at 13-30 cents more expensive. Buyers have the opportunity to return the money to your account, throwing the packaging into the build machine and scanned the bar code. Also the bottles can be taken to stores or a gas station and get a discount on other products. Institutions that accept the waste, also make a small profit on each bottle — some owners even say it has elevated their business to a new level.

We want to buying the product, people simply took the package for a loan.

Kjell Olav Maldoom, CEO of Infinitum

This strategy is already interested in countries such as Scotland , China and Australia. A similar system already implemented in Germany and Lithuania, and their recycling rate is also higher than in other countries.
