As stated in a study published in the journal , in order to answer this eternal question, the researchers analyzed 80 000 745 chords of pop songs that were in the Billboard, and came to the unexpected conclusion that almost all pop songs combine elements of uncertainty and surprise.
In the course of their studies, scientists learned songs, clearing them of and rhythm and leaving only the chords. 39 the task of volunteers was to listen 1039 chords 30 745 sequences from popular songs and the subsequent assessment heard. At the same time, in a separate experiment were monitored 40 people listening to the same chords, and their reactions in the brain observed using special devices and scanners.
