After 10 years the doctors will not be needed: the view of the legends of Silicon valley Source:

Known for his thoughts on the potential impact of artificial intelligence on the healthcare industry, the legendary Silicon valley investor and Sun Microsystems founder Vinod Khosla recently said that "any radiologist who plans to practice in 10 years, will kill patients every day," because the decisions related to machines will be developed to such an extent that it will become much more effective professional practitioners of medicine.

What will happen to the doctors in ten years?

Speaking at the concluding stage of supersession Creative Destruction Lab in Toronto, Khosla said that the work of the radiologist should not be, because diagnostic technology based on AI has moved forward, and the people of this profession "will sow death, choosing practice."

This position is consistent with his past statements on the issue. In 2017, he expressed the opinion that some types of doctors will be "obsolete" in five years (since the time frame is slightly increased, but it added time that it takes the community and the General public to make technology better). Khosla believes that oncologists will outperform alternatives based on domain-specific solutions AI, but that is to be expected in a 15-year horizon.

Instead, he believes that General practitioners will be more valuable and they will work with AI in more specialized areas of medicine, which is currently often considered more skill-intensive. It perfectly fits into the idea of narrow AI which better cope with special tasks.

What do you think will remain after 10 years of hospitals, doctors narrow profile? Tell us .
