Not so long ago we told you about the massive explosion and that dying, these stars emit into space , necessary for the development and the origin of life. Recently, scientists have discovered a wave coming from the supernova, which was to our planet closer and exploded about 30 years ago. Thanks to the work of the new x-ray scientists have obtained an image in which the visible trace of a supernova explosion. According to the observations, such explosions have much to tell scientists about our Universe.

How does the eRosita?

The radio Telescope of a new generation was launched on 31 July as part of the space Observatory's high energy called . The telescope consists of seven Wolter mirror modules, each with 54 mirror with a gold coating. This ensures high sensitivity of the telescope and will help to detect x-rays. Each module eRosita is also equipped with a CCD sensor camera that provides exceptional resolution tool. After launching into orbit of our planet, radio telescope started observations on October 13. Despite the fact that it happened recently, the results we can enjoy today.

a highly Sensitive radio telescope eRosita in person

The First images eRosita, according to the researchers, allow us to see the hidden beauty of the Universe. Due to the special sensitivity of the telescope, scientists will be able to image the most distant from our clusters of galaxies. So, thanks to the first astronomers were able to see previously unknown stars in the milky Way galaxy, as well as traces from a supernova called SN 1987A. Astronomers say that this supernova was the closest to Earth — at a distance of 168 thousand light-years and greatly influenced our understanding of the explosions of these massive stars. The initial results of the work of eRosita testify to the incredible potential of this new generation tool. All seven modules have worked to produce images of the Large Magellanic Cloud and pairs of interacting clusters of galaxies, distant 800 million light years away . They are called Abell 3391 and Abell 3395.

So look Abell 3391 and Abell 3395 (left) x-rays (right)

The above image shows that each cluster has a length in tens of millions of light-years and contains thousands of galaxies. All together it looks like a bright knot in space. And between the clusters visible hot gas that connects galaxies together.

What is unique received the wave from a supernova explosion?

Take Another look at the resulting image (in the beginning). In the lower left corner you can see the bird with outstretched wings. It is a binary system called LMC X-1. It consists of more than 10 times the mass of the Sun, and blue supergiant stars is 32 times more massive than our home star. Black hole “takes” material from the star, creating a flash of x-rays. On the left, in the shape of a bird, is the active nucleus of the galaxy — supermassive black hole accretia substance, far behind the Large Magellanic Cloud. In the middle of all this beauty is the brightest star — this is SN 1987A. Thus, despite the apparent brightness, the obtained data testify to the fact that over time it fades, as the shock wave from the explosion is spreading .

The Researchers note that x-ray allows astronomers to see the picture of the Universe that cannot be obtained using other tools. Where optical telescopes take images of clusters of galaxies, x-ray telescopes have revealed large accumulations of gas that fills the space between the galaxies, and also helps researchers study the structure of the Universe and closer to unraveling the mysteries of dark matter. Astronomers do not doubt that in the future eROSITA will lead to a breakthrough in the understanding of the evolution of the energy of the Universe.
