Pharmacists have created a Source:

A Long time scientists around the world tried to find a way to "force" the tablet to move in the right direction in the human body without resorting to various tricks, like a magnetic field, microbots, and so on. And finally, this has been the group of researchers from the United States. They didn't just come up with a way to make plans, but also used very interesting technology.

According to the editors of ACS Nano, responsible for the development of a team of researchers from the University of California in San Diego. Their new invention in the pharmacy something like the turbine, only in a much reduced form. They are layered spherical particles with a size of about 20 micrometers. As the kernel are molecules of magnesium covered with a layer of titanium dioxide and 100 nanometrov layer of maltose and lactose. The latter is necessary in order to protect the structure and to ensure its adhesion to the walls of the stomach or intestines when necessary. In addition, the composition of the PLGA particles included — polylactide co-glycolide, which is the carrier of the drug.

Prior To this test technology was conducted a few years. Once in the intestine, the magnesium begins to work as fuel, directing the particle to where necessary. Adjusting the amount of magnesium, you can achieve different "movement", and calculate where the particle will stop and will begin to act. In laboratory studies on animals instead of the drug was used a glowing dye, the delivery of which can be observed in real time. The experiment was a success and now scientists are beginning to work on reduction of their technology.
