How many planets in the universe similar to ours?

How to find a planet through a telescope?

The new method simulates the «universes» of the stars and planets, and then «monitors» for these simulated universes, to determine how many planets would be discovered by Kepler in each of the «virtual worlds».
This technique could help researchers to review previously obtained data and be decisive when assessing the number of earth-like planets that fit the criteria .
How many planets around other stars?
While the mission “Kepler” has found thousands of small planets, most of them are so far away that astronomers are hard to learn more about their composition and atmospheres. At the same time, based on approximate modeling, researchers have calculated that the planet is close to Earth in size and mass, with orbital periods from 237 to 500 days, there are close to one of the four stars. If you take into account that on average each star has about 3 , then we can consider that our galaxy contains a huge amount of still unexplored worlds.
In any case, the evidence of the existence of life in other star systems will require new space missions. In the meantime, we can only wait for the launch “ ” that will be able to solve the mystery of distant exoplanets.
