A pill that replaces the gym, is closer to reality

Once you have identified a chemical compound that activates the gene responsible for the resistance to weight gain and reacting to the insulin produced from long distance runners, scientists have been able to use this knowledge to create a unique drug. This time they plan to enhance the fat burning by activation of the desired gene while suppressing the other gene responsible for burning carbohydrates for energy. Simply put, their next drug will allow the body to draw energy directly from fat without additional exercise. And this is much closer to than some kind of "power endurance".
