Unmanned taxi Nissan is ready to deliver passengers
Source:Carmaker Nissan reports that it will soon begin testing unmanned taxi and private service, Easy Ride, a mobile app developed by DeNA, known for creating Pokemon Go and a number of other projects based on the use of geolocation.
To Use the service, only residents of the Japanese city of Yokohama, which will ride on the unmanned taxi from the headquarters of Nissan to the shopping center Yokohama World Porters since March 5, 2018. It is reported that during the trip, passengers will appreciate the Easy Ride and to test its various functions. The app understands voice and text commands, so you can go comfortably, ordered the car, what you need to do at the moment. The machine will turn on the music or will inform the client of the discounts in the supermarket (in this case we are talking about the Yokohama World Porters). In addition, the app will allow to grade the trips, and before calling the unmanned taxi can specify the desired cost of the trip.
According to the developers of the autopilot and the application, the test period will last several weeks. During this time it is expected to collect a sufficient amount of the desired information, which can then be used when developing other «field» test and improve the software. Nissan hope to be able to start the service for everyone by 2020, when Tokyo will host the summer Olympics.
