One day the universe could be transparent

Despite the fact that the modern Universe we can see with our own eyes, it was not always

When 14.5 billion years ago, literally arose from nothing, our universe, in the endless darkness suddenly began to light up the first hot stars who could miss the bright lights of the intergalactic space. They did it so that the newborn universe at some point became transparent, although it is hard to imagine accustomed to the contemporary reality of the brain. According to the data obtained at the Observatory MIT Haystack as soon as our universe is enough to cool all of its protons and electrons join to form the so-called neutral hydrogen, making the universe unobservable in the electromagnetic spectrum. Well, it seems the experts are not in vain called such a strange period of “dark ages”.

What is dark age of the Universe?

As is known, when the universe was still quite young, she was hot, but quickly cooling particles. The cooled protons and electrons were able at some point to unite, becoming neutral hydrogen, which hid our universe from observations in the electromagnetic spectrum. When after approximately a billion years came the era of “reionizatsii”, resulting in the appearance of plasma, in the history of the Universe was a very interesting period, whose main characters are young and very hot stars which emitted a huge amount of ultraviolet radiation.

As the portal , in order to better understand the processes taking place in the “dark ages” , the researchers turned to one of the oldest known to date of galaxies located at a distance of 11 billion light years from Earth called Sunburst Ark.

Galaxy Sunburst Ark

While in the process of studying the light signals coming from ancient galaxies, the researchers suggested that the initial ionized light coming out of young galaxies in a few narrow channels that came out of the opaque shell Sunburst Ark.

Such “galactic hole” for the first time been able to detect the telescope , which observe the ancient galaxy using the method of gravitational lensing. Some of the images of the telescope were made in unionised spectrum of light, showing the presence of holes in the surrounding gas of the galaxy.

Thus, the sources that could give rise to the first ionizing photons of the Universe has finally got a scientific explanation that has given mankind an opportunity to reconsider our understanding of the processes taking place in the dark ages of the Universe.
