It's almost definitely aliens, but incredibly strange behavior of the stars Tabby once again forced astronomers to think about this possibility. A real obsession for the researchers, this star first started in the fall of 2015, when the astronomer Jason Wright suggested that the reason of such strange behavior (namely, extreme changes in luminosity) can be some sort of extraterrestrial megastructure. However, unlike previous studies that were conducted after the fact, after changes in its luminosity, astronomers now decided to study a star called «live».

The fact that the star is at it again and beginning to show the changing brightness levels a day earlier announced via Twitter himself Jason Wright.

As the portal to Popular Science, the reduction of the luminosity by approximately 3 per cent was confirmed by the Fairborn Observatory, located in Arizona (USA). Taking into account the already known parameters of the lower luminosity stars, it can not be called usual behavior. Early attempts to explain this phenomenon were varied. It was proposed and a swarm of comets circling around a star and that the star literally eats one of their exoplanets, well, of course aliens built around a star, a kind of megastructure for energy production.

First star Tabby or KIC 8462852 was discovered in the database of the space telescope "Kepler". Since then, she never ceases to amaze how simple Amateur astronomers and eminent scientists from around the world. For more than four years of observations, "Kepler" level coming from the stars and light from time to time dropped dramatically. In one such case, the rate of drop of luminosity amounted to as much as 20 percent. In General, the more astronomers look at the star, the more mysteries she creates.

The Analysis of old photographic plates showed that in total over the entire 20-th century the brightness of the star dropped by an impressive 19 percent. Analysis of the data, "Kepler" has only confirmed that the decrease in luminosity has a long lasting nature. At some point there was the idea that the best option to solve the riddles of the stars Tabby will be a direct observation of her at the same time in all the spectra at the time of reduction of its brightness. Organizing a successful crowdfunding campaign and gathering the necessary tools for the job, the astronomers set to work.

Work started. Astronomers from around the world, including Amateurs, are now directing their telescopes towards the stars and Tabby are watching right now is changing its performance.

"Right now we are coordinating the work of many different telescopes", — shared Wright in an interview with the program SETI, adding that together with the two Keck telescopes in Hawaii tonight to watch star Tabby will join a host of other telescopes from the US and other parts of the world.

"It will be a very interesting weekend" — said Wright.

It Should be noted that the original data telescope "Kepler" star Tabby looked like a simple white dot on the image. More accurate measurements at different wavelengths will help to eliminate many of the factors that could influence its level of luminosity, end up leaving one or two most likely. For example, data with a high level of absorption of blue and ultraviolet light could indicate that around the star there is a giant cloud of dust. At the same time, the excess infrared radiation could talk about in favor of the hypothesis about comets.

But what might confirm the theory about the giant alien structure? Perhaps only very extraordinary and at the same time, convincing evidence.
