Physics finally saw what decays the Higgs boson Source:

Physics is finally seen as an elementary particle, first discovered at the Large hadron Collider, is divided into two charming quark, exotic and long living particles, which often appear after the collision of energetic particles. This elusive process we were able to watch only now, for the first time in six years after the discovery of the Higgs boson. Scientists of the two LHC experiments, ATLAS and CMS, announced their results simultaneously on the seminar held at CERN on 28 August.

Scientists do not see the Higgs boson. They're watching the shards that remain after the Higgs decays into less massive particles. The Higgs boson, as expected, divided into two charming quark most of the time. But until now scientists have not been able to observe this process, because other mechanisms can produce a charming quarks and to simulate the decay of the Higgs. Scientists have seen the Higgs decaying into other types of particles, including particles of light — photons. This process does not create problems with simulators of the Higgs.

Elusive elusive decay particles

When the Higgs first became known to the General public in 2012, physicists have filled the last missing piece of the Standard model, a theory of fundamental constituents of matter. But physicists still want to know more about the inner workings of this boson.

The Standard model makes predictions about how often the Higgs should decay into different types of particles. Charming quarks are one of six types of quarks in the Standard model, each of which has different properties, like mass and electric charge. While the lightest quarks are the common particles, like protons and neutrons, charming quarks are relatively heavy and rare.

Physicists want to measure the various ways of decay of the Higgs boson to see whether they conform to predicted models. If not, it may indicate an error in the theory. However, until now, all the new results confirm the Standard model.
