Astronomers have suggested another explanation for the unusual behavior of the stars Tabby Source:

A Group of researchers under the leadership of Mario Scarcia of Columbia University of Antioquia has proposed a new explanation for the unusual cases of reduction in the brightness of stars K8462852 on the basis of recent observations and computer simulations. Experts suggest that the singularity behavior of the stars can explain the "manifested signatures starneptune exoplanets".

"We have studied the dynamics of the deviations and came to the conclusion that to explain the irregular and anomalous signals could be using the transit passages of the planet with the rings" — scientists.

The First unusual behavior of the stars KIC 8462852 said in 2015 a group of researchers at Yale University under the leadership of astronomer TABATA Boyajian. Typically, when observing stars from Earth visible reduction in brightness can explain the passing of the star-planets. But in the case of the star KIC 8462852, called star Tabby, this explanation did not fit into the observed anomalies. Each time I observed the irregular levels of dimming. As a result, as from a cornucopia poured various theories and assumptions, trying to explain the strange behavior of the star. As an example comets, asteroids and even some huge "alien megastructure".

Akerke and his colleagues tested their idea with the help of computer simulations, trying to figure out how light can be bent under the influence of the transit transition of the planet with rings and at the same time located at a distance of about 1/10 of the distance between the earth and the Sun. As expected, the first light is blocked by the planet's rings, and then a significant drop in brightness occurring at a time when the planet covers part of the stars. Then ring again blocked the part of the world, but to a lesser extent. Scientists say that this transit trip each time will look different, as the rings at the moment of observation can be at different angles.

Next, the simulation showed that when near planets with rings, the star can to influence them, giving various degrees of oscillation and tilt, which in turn also adds to the explanation of the anomalous changes of the luminosity of the star.

"We found that having the inclination of the annular structure may be subject to short term changes in its shape and orientation, which in turn can manifest in the form of significant changes in the depth and time of the transit trip, even within each successive dimming".

For some, of course, such observations and conclusions will not suffice. For example, according to Keyvan Stassun, Professor of astrophysics the University of Texas, Vanderbilt, the nature of quasi-periodic or periodic darkening of the star Tabby is still unclear. And the presence of exoplanets with rings is only an assumption, not an established fact.

"the Goal of this study was to prove to the community to have a mechanism that really could lead to such light anomalies" — shared, Stassun in an interview with New Scientist.

"These changes can be generated by the dynamic motion of planetary satellites or rings of those planets. While they can occur in such systems so fast that they can detect literally only a few years".

The Scientist admits that this explanation can be written in one of the most probable, but reports that his team, like other researchers, most likely, will continue to observe the star Tabby, compare results and seek the truth that will finally be able to confidently explain her unusual behavior.
