A third of the animals on Earth can disappear in 50 years, scientists have found Source:

The Anthropogenic factor has a huge impact on the environment. Today, researchers around the world agree that the rapid human-induced. The problem, as you know, is to raise temperatures. Today, under the threat of extinction is a third of all species of plants and animals. The results of a study published in the journal suggests that only 50 years on Earth will not rhinos, zebras, elephants, lions and many other animals. If the climate change continue at the same rate, over time the situation may worsen.

The study on the impact of humanity on ecosystems around the world have been studied recently , due to climate change, as well as various predictions of climate models. According to the study authors, their work is probably the first of its kind. The fact that it is designed to evaluate large-scale models of extinction due to climate crisis, using the data of the recent extinctions and the rate of development types. However, to date, this work is the latest among a series of scientific studies on the sixth mass extinction of wildlife.

previous extinctions help to predict a new disaster

The Research team from the University of Arizona used data from about 538 to 581 sites around the world and focused on species that have been studied in the same place at intervals of not less than 10 years. They found that 44% of 538 species already extinct in one or more places where they previously lived. They also generate climate data by means of measurements carried out during the earliest examining each phase and during later studies.

The different kinds of living beings are endangered

As reported by analyzing the change 19 climate variables at each site, scientists were able to determine which variables contribute and how changes can move the view before we die. Moreover, the researchers also assessed how quickly certain species may move to avoid rapid changes of environment and increase in temperature. A further goal of researchers is to collect together all the pieces of information for each species. Then scientists will be able to provide detailed estimates of global rates of extinction for hundreds of species of plants and animals.

The results of the study showed that most species will not be able fast enough to move to other regions to escape extinction. To such conclusion researchers have come, based on past speeds of the species. Instead, many species are able to withstand some increase in maximum temperature, but only up to a certain level. About 50% of the species become a victim of local extinctions if the maximum temperature increased by more than 0.5°C and 95% die, if temperature increased by more than 2.9 °C.

Our planet has survived five mass extinctions of wildlife

Anyway, the predictions of extinctions depends on how much warmer will the climate in the future. If world leaders will adhere to the Paris agreement, the losses will amount to less than two out of every 10 species of plants and animals on Earth by 2070. But if growth temperature continues, the loss could be more than a third or even half of all species of animals and plants.
