Yes, you read correctly. Scientists have actually grown a small brain, representing cellular structures which emit brain waves. To capture neural activity, they were placed in a spider-like robot who was sent into space. Those little brains are tiny cell structures that perform specialized functions. They are called organelles. The organelles include ribosomes, chromosomes, mitochondria and other components of cells. In the laboratory of the University of California scientists have turned human skin cells into stem cells and then achieved that organelles developed as the brain cells in the embryo. Is the future arrived?
Why grow the organelles?
It All started six years ago. It was then that scientists first created brain organoid from human skin cells. Today they are grown in laboratories around the world. This gives scientists the opportunity to look afresh at the early stage of the development of the human brain.
Organelles, which are now in space, after all the operations have turned into balls about the size of a pinhead, each of which contains hundreds of thousands of cells of different types. Each of which, in turn, produces the same chemical and electrical signals and the cells in our brain.
