The Chinese sent a probe to Mars in 2020 Source:

The First automatic Mars probe, China plans to send as early as 2020, and in the next ten years, the researchers intend to begin on the planet's surface collecting samples — China Daily, citing the head of the project of Zhang Runtao.

According to him, China plans to conduct orbital and surface exploration of the red planet, making it through one flight.

Kill «two birds» collected by the apparatus, consisting of three modules: the orbital vehicle probe, lander and Rover. The orbital module will collect data about the planet's atmosphere, studying the electromagnetic field will collect data about temperature and other indicators. The Rover will take samples on the surface of the planet and will help to test a number of prototypes of equipment that in the future I plan to use for further development of the world.

Earlier research mission to Mars were sent by the specialists of the European space Agency and NASA. Idea ESA was able to implement only partially, because a module designed for research on the surface, crashed while landing. NASA did to land their Rovers on the surface — now they are engaged in research and regularly transmit to the Ground the new data.
