On Saturday, the national energy administration (NEA) of China has published information about what the government has doubled the amount of solar energy generated from Chinese power plants. Now the capacity is around 77,42 gigawatts, which is an absolute record among all countries of the world. Despite the impressive numbers, all this energy is only 1% of the volume consumed by China. But soon the situation may change, because the government is seriously occupied with the question of the transition from fossil fuels to clean sources of energy.
If you believe the representatives of the NEA, in the next three years, power sources environmentally friendly China will grow by 110 gigawatts and by 2030, these sources will provide about 20% of the needs of the state (today, alternative energy sources provide about 11%). The abandonment of fossil fuels would entail huge financial costs, but the Chinese government is determined to finish the job. In the transfer project of production of new forms of energy has already laid down an impressive budget with a volume of 364 billion dollars. And this amount may not be final.
