"Before the Big Bang nothing existed. According to the General theory of relativity, space and time form a space-time continuum that is curved under the influence of matter and energy. I'm more close to the Euclidean approach to quantum gravity that describes the origin of the Universe. According to this approach, we must replace the usual time on the imaginary, which represents a fourth dimension of space. According to Euclid history of the Universe existing in imaginary time is a fourth dimensional curved surface similar to the surface of the Earth but with two extra dimensions."
Stephen Hawking together with the American physicist James Chartlon came to the conclusion that "the boundary condition of the Universe" is that it simply has no boundaries. In other words, the Euclidean approach is time and space as a closed surface that has no end. The beginning of the Universe Hawking has compared with the South pole of the Earth. "There is nothing South of the South pole. Similarly, nothing existed until the Big Bang" — summed up his response to the physicist.
