"Cooling the brain" — a new method in the fight against Parkinson's disease

"Our team found that small molecule MCC950 stopped the development of Parkinson's disease in several animal models. We used this discovery to develop improved drugs of new type and plan to start clinical trials by 2020."

The Essence of drug action: the researchers found that many patients suffering from Alzheimer's, the main development factor is the protein complex NLRP3. It not only causes protein adhesion to inflamed brain cells, but also circulating in the blood. Synthetic molecule MCC950 perceives this protein as a target and locks it.

"Inflammatory process associated with increased local temperature and we can say that the molecule MCC950 as if "cools the brain" that stops the inflammation and allows the neurons to function normally again. During the first experiments on laboratory animals we were able to achieve significant recovery of motor activity."
