A lot of problems with this article: First, the idea that plants were toxic to dinos is a fairly old idea, IIRC. And my first thought about this is that it doesn't work - plants evolved toxicity only if it enhanced their chances for survival. But if dinos didn't respond to the initial moderate toxicity, then I don't see how the plants would evolve enough toxicity to become deadly. I've also read journal articles that point out that it's likely that dinos weren't that much reduced, anyway. The supposed reduction was a sampling artifact as you approach the K/T boundary. Another issue: crocodiles are NOT descendants of dinosaurs. They share a common ancestor. And there are two errors with this sentence as well: "dinosaurs began to disappear long before the fall of the asteroid and continued to fade for millions of years after him»" First, what is this "him" at the end of the sentence? I assume it means the asteroid. And second, dinos did NOT continue to fade for millions of years after the asteroid hit. They were GONE after the impact. Last, did anyone proofread this? There are quite a few typos in it that should have been caught.
