The reason for the cancellation was the lingering testing apparatus, which will not be completed in time.

Chairman of the K. Sivan explained that testing of the spacecraft is still not finished. To look at everything thoroughly, it will take at least twenty days, so even if they wanted to implement the start of the apparatus in the previously scheduled time will not work. The mission is started, a decision was made to transfer starts at the beginning of October.

«If we start the mission from may to September, we didn't get to use for experiments on the moon full moon day of eclipses. Therefore, we at ISRO decided to postpone the start of the mission on the first week of October», — said Sivan in an interview.

Earlier it was reported that in 2018 India plans to send to the orbit of the moon machine «Chandrayaan-2» and planted on its surface a Rover of its own design. Machine «Chandrayaan-2» supposed to be the successor to the automatic station «Chandrayaan-1», which was launched to the moon in October 2008.
