Intel will no longer defend some of their processors from vulnerabilities

At the beginning of this, as of 2018, some processors of Intel was discovered that allowed attackers to steal user data which are processed in the processor. Immediately representatives of Intel said that will work on a "patch" that will correct the omission. However, it was recently announced that not all processors will be able to become safe.

As stated by Intel themselves, the owners of Sandy Bridge and newer systems will get the promised update from savemoney discovered in the beginning of the year Meltdown and the Spectre, but the creation of patches for processors older than seven years is not expected.

It is Worth mentioning that Meltdown and the Spectre, are striking not only for Intel chips, but some AMD products. At the moment, Intel has already released fixes for the models of Broadwell, Haswell, Skylake, Kaby Lake and the Coffee Lake. But the 45-nanometre the Core chips of the first and second generations more will not be updated. Previously and they got some fixes, but more fixes can't wait. Such a change of course Intel explains in the following way:

"Most of the old products have been implemented as closed systems and therefore less vulnerable to the reported issues. In addition, the restriction on release of updates is due to the fact that the infection Spectre is unlikely due to the micro-characteristics of old chips".
