Patches against vulnerabilities Spectre and Meltdown for Windows hack computers with AMD

Microsoft has released a security update that addresses the vulnerability of Meltdown and the Spectre, which affect almost all processors produced since 1995, but was forced to withdraw them from-for complaints of users of devices based on AMD — after installing the patch KB4056892 computers simply stopped booting.

Patch was withdrawn after the Microsoft forum said that after installing the patch the system stops working «hanging out» on the splash screen with the Windows logo.

The AMD Processors are vulnerable only to attack Spectre, which allows attackers to elevate privileges in the system, and then to access data applications run by other users. Fortunately, AMD is not vulnerable Meltdown affecting including the kernel.

Now Microsoft does not send updates to computers that are running AMD, simultaneously trying problem together with the hardware developers. Those whose equipment was affected by a failed update, it is recommended to use the forums for support from Microsoft, promising to help return computers to a working state.
