Electric car printed on a 3D printer, put

The Car has long ceased to be a means of a La «bring me from point a to point B, burning gas on the road», it is now a testing ground for innovative technologies. Cars today are powered by electricity, to come on call in the smartphone app and to drive without a human driver alone. And soon they are also on 3D printers will print.

Not long ago the two companies announced the release of LSEV, a small electric car, every visible component of which is printed on a 3D printer. Except for the chassis, seats and glass. Small machine «three and a half» similar to the Smart Car, but still less.

LSEV is the brainchild of Shanghai manufacturer of materials for 3D printers Polymaker and Italian startup that produces electric cars, XEV. The car reportedly can accelerate to 80 kilometers per hour and pass up to 150 kilometers on a single battery charge. Relatively low speed means that the LSEV is good only for intra-city movement.

The Italian mail has already ordered 5,000 electric vehicles LSEV for a delivery of correspondence and parcels. Another 2000 cars already ordered ARVAL, a company leasing vehicles, owned by a French Bank BNB Paribas group.

Although LSEV is not the first 3D-printed car in history — an American company Local Motors and the 3D Divergent ahead of the Italian-Shanghai group — he was the first to be released in mass production.

Production LSEV will begin in late 2018, first deliveries to Europe will begin in mid-2019 at a price of $ 10,000 per copy. Manufacture of parts and Assembly takes three days. The production of a conventional car, by the way, is about 30-35 hours, but this is only the beginning. But LSEV consists of 57 parts, while a conventional car contains about 20 000 pieces (counting each bolt).

Not far off when a 3D printer will print the whole city.
