The American Governor of Virginia signed a decree according to which robotic couriers will be able to walk on the sidewalks and crosswalks shared use. To use your «right to work» robots are involved in the delivery of packages can from the first of July 2017. The new law stipulates that robots that meet prescribed requirements, will be able to walk on the sidewalks without accompaniment, while all responsibility for any accidents related to Autonomous robocourier, a courier service should take. Therefore, the owners of the bots will be obliged to establish their «subordinates» surveillance. In doing so, they can help of system of remote monitoring, powered by GPS.

With the development of the law, the state government has consulted Estonian startups Starship involved in the development of robotic couriers, recently opened a representative office in the United States. Interest in creating courier robotaki throughout the state expressed Amazon, and Grubhub, as well as some other companies.

However, the law stipulates that in the case that the robots will create problems to pedestrians, the local authority reserves the right to cancel the decision and to prohibit the robots to roam the streets unaccompanied.
